Why This Book

Our world has changed! Just a few months back, everything was normal. Everything was good. But now suddenly, our beliefs, habits and behaviours have gone for a complete toss, and we are forced to lead a life that is very different to the one we have been living until now. While almost all of us are feeling imprisoned with nowhere safe to go, for some of us, being alone with our own thoughts feels like a different kind of hell. Is this the life we were supposed to live?

Though it looks like the virus is in control and is totally controlling our lives, we need to understand that we can easily get back in the driving seat of the life. The coronavirus is a wake up call for all of us. Perhaps the earlier viruses were not enough to reform us so a bigger and badder version came to bring us on the right track. We have been exploiting our health and the environment for so long that now it’s high time we understand our mistakes, learn from them and become better. If we think of it this way, maybe we can get something good out of this pandemic. Just like a virus forces us to shut our computers and phones and do a hard reset, maybe the coronavirus is giving us an opportunity to take a pause, clean our slates, reset our lives and get ready for a great future.

Gamestorming is a simple but an endearing and enduring approach since the games are carefully selected to encourage readers to reflect and reexamine their lifestyles. This book intends to creatively engage readers in matters important to the future of humanity. The first part in each chapter includes a Story to enthuse readers and creatively engage them in the process of inculcating good habits. The second part is Playtime. It is intended to engage readers to reflect on real-life situations affecting them and the society. The readers are encouraged to analyse and synthesise the underlying moral messages so as to consolidate their learning about various values and like skills. This hands-on approach prods the readers to arrive at their own conclusions, and in the process help them blossom into balanced human beings. Basically, it aims to break through the barriers of our minds by echoing the murmurs of the human in us.

I hope this playbook will serve its intended purpose by making you aware of your duty to yourself and the humanity. May you never be the same again!
